Nick Muzin
Superlobbyist, Attorney, and Doctor in Washington D.C.
Nicolas Muzin, a Canadian-American Republican strategist, attorney, and physician, is celebrated for his strategic leadership and commitment to public service in politics and consulting.
After earning a medical degree on a full scholarship from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, he continued to Yale Law, where he joined the Jewish leadership society Shabtai.
An early shift in his political alignment took him from supporting the Democratic Gore/Lieberman ticket in 2000 to serving as counsel for the Republican National Committee during George W. Bush’s 2004 reelection. His focus on health policy later earned him a role as medical adviser to Sen. John McCain’s 2008 presidential campaign.
A turning point came when he joined forces with Tim Scott, then a Charleston City Council member. As Scott’s chief of staff and policy adviser, he crafted the strategy that helped Scott become the first Black Republican congressman from South Carolina in over a century, solidifying Muzin’s reputation as a skilled strategist.
Scott’s move to the U.S. Senate marked a further rise for Muzin, who became director of strategy and coalitions for the House Republican Conference, shaping legislative priorities during the 113th Congress. As national political director for the Tomorrow is Meaningful (TIM-PAC) political action committee, he championed Tea Party values such as entrepreneurship and tax reform.
In 2016, he joined Sen. Ted Cruz’s presidential campaign as a senior advisor and deputy chief of staff, guiding Cruz on religious and cultural outreach to engage Jewish and broader faith communities.
Today, Muzin leads as chairman and founder of Stonington Global, a D.C.-based law and consulting firm. His firm handles diverse projects, including programming for Voice of America’s Persian News Network and pro bono work in criminal justice reform and human rights.
